Sing Chu National Student Chinese Calligraphy Competition 2016 Winners

The finals held on 3rd December 2016 at Suntec Convention & Exhibition Centre, Hall 401 (Main Stage) is a great success! We would like to express our biggest thanks to all participating students and judges.

We are honoured to invite Singapore’s established Chinese Calligraphers, Mr Choo Thiam Siew (Chief Executive Officer of Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre and Consultant for Sing Chu National Student Chinese Calligraphy Competition 2016), Mr Soon Chin Tuan (Consultant for Shicheng Calligraphy and Seal-Carving Society Singapore) and Mr Kong Lingguang (Member of the Chinese Calligraphers’ Association) to be our judges.

It was a magnificent view with 40 young calligraphers displaying their talent live and compete during the finals. After much deliberation, our judges have chosen 3 best pieces from each category.

Sing Chu National Student Chinese Calligraphy Competition 2016 Finalists

Sing Chu National Student Chinese Calligraphy Competition preliminary round has ended. We are delighted to receive lots of beautiful pieces for this competition. A big thank you to everyone who has participated in this competition.

We are honoured to invite Singapore’s established Chinese calligraphers, Mr Soon Chin Tuan (Consultant for ShiCheng Calligraphy and Seal-Carving Society (Singapore) and Judge for the Chinese Calligraphy Society of Singapore) and Mr Wong Joon Tai (Founder of Nanyang Calligraphy Centre) to be our judges. After much deliberation, our judges have chosen the best pieces from each categories to enter our final round of competition. If your artwork is not selected for the finals, please don’t be disheartened as there will be more opportunities to come.

We warmly invite everyone to come and watch the finals at Suntec Convention & Exhibition Centre, Hall 401 (Main Stage) on 3rd December 2016 (Saturday), 1pm to 3pm.

Chou Sing Chu Foundation is proud to announce and invite students to participate in the inaugural Sing Chu National Student Chinese Calligraphy Competition.

The Chinese language has a long and rich history and the best way to appreciate the beauty of language will be through the art of calligraphy. Setting the theme of this contest to be “Four Seasons in Ink”, we encourage students to discover the beauty of the seasons through the art of words.

  • Open to all students from Lower Primary, Upper Primary and Secondary Levels studying in Singapore and Malaysia.
  • Winners will stand to win attractive book prizes and certificates.
  • Winning artworks from the competition will be exhibited at the Bookfest@Singapore 2016, held at Suntec City Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre from 3 December to 11 December 2016.
